Nomination and voting procedures for Archery Hall of Fame
candidates:
An individual, through an archery organization; qualified
archery historian; or AHF board of director member, may
present for ballot consideration a deserving member of the
archery community in the following categories:

Bowhunter
-
Coach
-
Competitor
-
Contributor to the Sport
-
Educator
-
Influence on the Sport
-
Innovator/Inventor
-
Lifetime Achievement
-
An individual wishing to bring
forward an outstanding member of the national archery
community for nomination needs to present the following
materials to the CEO of the Archery Hall of
Fame and Museum, Inc:

A formal letter from a
local, state, regional, or national archery organization
having direct correlation or relationship with the
candidate’s career;

A complete and
documented biography of all elements of the candidate’s
archery career, accomplishments, and;
-
Published articles
reflecting upon the candidate’s accomplishments, and/or
other mediums involving the candidate, such as videos;
television productions; and/or authored books
information, should be included when available.

All submissions will be
reviewed by the Board of Directors for authenticity within
the category criteria. A merit year qualification basis has
been established, since most candidates will have
qualifications in more than one category simultaneously. A
candidate should have accumulated a minimum 50 merit years
for qualification and no less than 10 years in at least one
category, at the highest level, within the qualification
categories, and no less than 20 years total involvement in
archery.
All submissions received prior to October 1, in a given
year, are reviewed for placement on the Ballot the following
year. The qualified nominees will then be placed on the
Induction Ballot. The Ballots will be mailed to the
electorate annually during the fourth quarter of the
year prior to the election year.
Nominees achieve induction status based upon a majority of
the vote. But must receive 40% in be inducted. More than one nominee may
be inducted in
any given year.
A candidate appearing on the
Ballot over a 3 year period, who has not achieved induction
status, will be moved to the veterans category with
potential for induction by vote of the Veterans Committee
and the Board of Directors at
some later date.
The Electorate is composed of the living inductees of the
Archery Hall of Fame, members of the Board of Directors,
representatives of each of the sanctioned participating
national archery organizations, representatives of all
supporting industry organizations, selected members of
sports mediums, and board recognized archery historians.
Those individuals voted into the Hall of Fame will be
notified within 30 days of the Electorate vote count.
Inductions will be scheduled for September of the year the
vote is taken. The induction ceremony will be held at the
site of the Archery Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. in
Springfield, Missouri.
All final decisions are at the discretion of the Archery
Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. officers and Board of
Directors.
